10-14 March 2009
Finally, it's all over now. From the workshops on weekdays which covers Ikebana, Tea Ceremony, Sushi Making, Kimono Dressing and Origami, to the movie showing and exhibition in the library, end with the Japanese Cultural Night with food stalls, exhibition booths such as PVC Figurines, Gundam, PS3 Games, Card Games, Cosplay, Manga and mini games... everything was finaly over... total exhausted from me... making it into reality makes me feel kinda glad...
Problems keep on rising... but finally all the workshops, movie showing and exhibitions end up without any major problems. Then here comes the Saturday event... the Japanese Cultural Night. It is an outdoor event, so weather will be the main concern. And guess what? It rains... around 4pm rain starts to drizzle... and all our plans have to be switch... 7pm... the time when the show should starts... well, I guess only about 100 people is around there... as the show goes on... I can see about 200 in the middle of it... well, it makes me feel that "well, that's it..." at that very moment... but when the rain stops around 9pm+, the crowd starts to gather... almost double from just now! And due to the better weather condition, we managed to do a real bon-odori dance at the open area together with the lovely stage we designed... sob sob... tears really like whelming in me... in the end, the whole event managed to end up with a great success...
Thank you for those who attend the event. Thank you for all the booths that participated in this event. Thank you for all the performers. Thank you to Judo, Kendo and Karate Club at Kota Kinabalu. Thank you to Mr. Julian for helping out. Thank you to Mr. Yohan for providing a great sound and light system. Thank you to Consulate General of Japan and Japan Foundation for giving us the full support. Thank you to Consul General for coming and officially closed the Japanese Cultural Week. Thank you to all my committee members. Thank you my dear for all the helps and care...
Thank you once again to everyone involved with this event. Hope that Japanese Cultural Club will continue to be active and organizing a better and greater event. Pictures will be uploaded once I get them... I'm too busy to take any picture that day...
